October 11, 1907 Hobart Gazette: “Hugo Zobjeck and a gentleman from Valpo by the name of R. Havens have decided to open in Hobart a new industry, one that promises in time to be extensive. They propose to manufacture all kinds of sodas and a variety of mineral waters, not only for the local trade that consumers much of these goods today but for the trade in other places. They have all their machinery purchased and will soon be in operation.” The partnership ended sometime before September 1, 1910, at which time his initials are given as “A.R.” Mr. Havens may have had a bottling career in Valpo before or after the Hobart venture.
