Constantine Boleslaus Kachur

Constantine Boleslaus Kachur was born in 1859 in Germany. He married Marianna Rosina Robowski in 1886 in Prussia and immigrated to the United States around 1890.

In the 1897–1898 and 1899 directories, he is listed as a deputy sheriff.

He later operated a grocery store and saloon at 411–413 Tipton Street in La Porte. The exact date his business closed is unknown, as city directories between 1913 and the start of Prohibition in 1920 have not yet been researched.

He died on January 15, 1947, and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City.

1897-1898 & 1899 – Kachur Constantine (Mary), Deputy Sheriff, home at 1209 State Street.

1902 – Kachur, Constantine (Mary) grocery, corner of Railroad and Tipton, home at the same location.

1907 – Kachur, C. B. (Mary), grocery and sample room, home 411 and 413 Tipton. (saloon listed at 411 Tipton)

1910 – Kachur Considine B (Mary) groceries and saloon 411-413 Tipton, phone 487.

1913 & 1919 – Kachur Constantine B, Groceries and Saloon, 413-411 Tipton, residence 413 Tipton. (Mary)

1923 – Kachur Constantine B, Grocer 413-411 Tipton, residence 413 Tipton. (Mary)
