According to The Weekly Republican of Plymouth, Indiana, on November 28, 1907, Ebert Bros. succeeded the Joseph Stein bottling works two months prior to the date of the article. The brothers were Adam Ebert (Feb. 25, 1876 — Dec. 21, 1945) and Carl Ebert (Mar. 31, 1873 — May 29, 1950). Both were born in Germany.

Ebert Bros. sold their plant in 1927.

EBERT BROS. Bottlers of All Kinds of Soda and Mineral Waters.

This business was originally established in 1885, Ebert Bros. succeeding Joseph Stein two months ago. The plant is very large, covering about two acres of ground. It is fully equipped to do all kinds of bottling in the most up-to-date manner.

They bottle all kinds of soda and mineral waters, using the Hutchinson stoppers for pop. The capacity of the plant is over 23,000 cases of bottled goods in one year. Their trade extends all over Marshall county and adjacent territory. From three to five men and two teams are employed in the manufacture and moving of their products. These gentlemen have resided in Plymouth since 1887 and are well and favorably known. They also are agents for Pabst famous Blue Ribbon Beer, made in Milwaukee.

A wholesale liquor license was granted to Ebert Bros. for Plymouth. The license fee for this is $200, and allows them to sell anywhere in the state.

Saloon Sold 

The saloon of James Epler, on Logan Street, was sold last week Carl Ebert and brother of Plymouth and they took possession at once, and for this purpose has purchased a five passenger auto. They expect to keep about four horses, buggies and carriages. — Kewanna Herald.


4) Beverage Journal — 1922.

Franchise rights for Coca-Cola, Orange Crush, Cherry Blossoms, and a number of others, seem to be included with the sale of the newly equipped bottling plant offered by Ebert Brothers, Plymouth, Ind., as announced in the classified section of this issue.


5) The Beverage News  — June 15, 1927.

Ebert Bros. Bottling Works, Plymouth, Ind., were bought recently by George Krempp, who conducts the Coca-Cola Bottling Co., at Washington, Ind.
