Premature Explosion at Laporte Results From Play.

LAPORTE, Ind., July 6.—As the result of a premature explosion of powder with which he was playing, Theodore Garwood, 10 years old, son of Robert Garwood, saloon keeper, is lying wounded at the hospital. There is little hope of his recovery. The boy had filled an old pump with powder and stones when the explosion occurred. A large part of his face was torn away and both eyes were destroyed. South Bend News-Times, July 6, 1915. Note: It appears that Theodore survived the explosion, as his lifespan is recorded from November 10, 1904 to December 2, 1976.
