Melody Lane Dairy

  • County: Lake County
  • Location: Hobart
  • Years Active in the Business: c. 1946 — 1952

According to a newspaper article from The Hammond Times on Sept. 30, 1946, Fred F. Schultz purchased the Countryside Dairy in Gary, IN. The name was changed to Melody Lane Dairy.

The address is listed as 661 S. Main St. in Hobart in the 1947 telephone directory, as well as in a newspaper article from 1952, which is the last year we could find any mention of this dairy. More research is needed on this one.

There is a Melody Lane Dairy red pyro square quart bottle with music notes that says “Hobart & Gary, Ind.” on it. We need a photo of that.
